ruths-houseRuth’s House was founded in 1992 in Haverhill, MA, as a non-profit thrift store whose mission is to renew, reuse and recycle for charity. Ruth’s House accepts donations from estates, local businesses, and individual donors that they resell. The proceeds from these donated goods are then used to purchase new socks and underwear to distribute to people facing financial hardship.

Anyone is able to shop at Ruth’s House, where he or she will find clothing and other donated goods at a fraction of retail prices.  Referred clients (those who are struggling financially) receive four complete weather- appropriate outfits, including new socks and underwear, at no cost. Additionally, these referred clients receive 20% off of purchases at Ruth’s House. In 2013, Ruth’s House assisted more than 4,000 individuals in the community by providing them with clothing; more than half of those assisted were under the age of 18.

Annie’s Hallmark Baldoria, with the help from our fantastic customer base, found a way to contribute.  Customers received $20 off of a new pair of jeans when they brought in a lightly worn pair to donate. The response was amazing!   More than 100 pairs of lightly worn jeans were donated to Ruth’s House in less than one year.

Part of the Annie’s mission is to contribute to making our community a better place to live. Click here to learn more about Annie’s Charity Fund and the charities we are currently partnering with to make a difference.
