BrightonBrighton Jewelry Care jewelry is created through a multi-step process that begins with a designers hand sketch.  Cast in solid brass or zinc alloy, each piece is plated in pure 92.5% silver.  As with all silver, tarnishing will take effect over time causing a slight discoloration in the jewelry.  To avoid this process and in an effort to maintain the beautiful shine of Brighton jewelry pieces, Jerry Kohl’s company applies a protective lacquer finish on all pieces.  This lacquer allows the piece to keep its lustrous shine while requiring little maintenance.

Following these simple instructions to ensure the lacquer finish remains intact, preventing tarnishing while prolonging the life of your jewelry:

Remove all jewelry before bathing or swimming.  Avoid getting jewelry wet for extended periods of time.  Avoid jewelry cleaners such as silver cleaners and treated polishing cloths. Avoid perfumes, lotions, hairspray, hand-sanitizers and makeup as these items could potentially damage the lacquer, causing tarnishing to occur.

To clean your pieces, use 100% cotton cloth to wipe down your item and remove any impurities.

Tip: Let your Brighton piece be the last item you put on in the morning—and tuck your Brighton items away while you are not wearing them.  With proper care and cleaning your Brighton will look beautiful for years to come.
